It is our goal to surround those people and families with love, kindness and peace to help them persevere through the storm or valley that has entered their life. These are all areas where a family can engage as a group and help those in our congregation that are hurting and are in need. Consider reviewing the prayer requests and see where you may be able to show the love of Christ to another.
This ministry will visit those that are shut in’s or are in the hospital. They will pray with these people, provide informational materials and encourage them to seek the Lord in the healing of their bodies to get back to the place were they can again join us for worship on Sunday.
Some of the other things the visitation team will do is assist in arranging rides to and from church, submit prayer requests and be a communication person back to the church for needs that they can not fulfill personally. We encourage all small groups to make “Visitation” a group event to do this throughout the year.
To get more information on shut ins or church congregates that are hospitalized, contact the church office to get started helping in this very rewarding ministry.
If you call Banner of Christ your home church, you are probably already engaged in prayer and praying for those things that we specifically ask God’s will to be revealed in. Many receive pray requests emails and follow the prayer requests insert in the weekly bulletin.
We ask Christ to touch each one of these requests as we pray as a congregation, as small groups and individually for these specific requests that are brought to our attention.
If you’d like, you can submit a prayer request here, or you can call or email the church office to get your prayer request added to the list that we pray for daily.
There is also a “Prayer Gathering” every Wednesday night in the church library to go over each request and pray for them.
If you have a prayer request, please do not hesitate to let us or someone know about it. It is not good to keep these things to yourself and we believe wholeheartedly in the power of prayer. Contact the church office, if there is anything that we can do to help get your request prayed for.
“Hello, nice to see you, glad you decided to stop by! Can I help you in any way? Enjoy yourself and don’t hesitate to ask, if you have any questions.”
The Hospitality Team covers a variety of areas, which help promote the cheerful and welcoming environment at Banner. the hospitality team is made up of greeters, ushers and event staff. The church has numerous events were the hospitality team is there and at work throughout the year.
Some of the annual events that the church has are:
- Chili Cook-off (fund raiser)
- Annual Family Camping Trip
- Thanksgiving Dinner
- Christmas Social
Have an event in mind that you would like to have, or if you would like to join in helping with an upcoming event? Someone from the hospitality team is usually the first person our guests will see. Like people, like to help? Call the church office and get connected with the next event.
Meals and Flowers
This is a group that volunteers their time and talent by cooking a meal for a family in need. They take the responsibility to contact the family to see what it is they like, arrange delivery and bless families that are going through a tough time. Banner uses an online meal scheduling service that sends out an email alert when a meal schedule has been created for someone in need. Please make sure you are on the church’s email distribution to get this alerts to sign up to make a meal on a specific day/ time to prevent overlaps. When the church office has been advised of a need, they will communicate this to those that are interested in helping.
The flowers part of this team makes arrangements to get flowers, cards, or fruit baskets to those that have unfortunate events happen in there families. They monitor church announcements and prayer requests to keep in touch with church office for needs that pop up over the week and coordinate efforts to have something done/sent. There are usually prayer requests that come along with these families, so they also can help update church on any new information regarding these requests.
