The Audio Team assists in making sure everything sounds good. That the mix is just right and pleasing to the ear. Sound engineering does require a sensitive ear and an attention to detail. Sound techs are often computer techs too, as with all the technology that is now part of the position. Testing and setting up wireless mic’s, maintaining the wired equipment and sometimes repairing broken connections. Helping monitor inventory of equipment and suggesting future equipment needs. Stage setup and tear down, before and after events keeps this team on their toes.
Sound techs are often asked to assist in special events that go on around the church. They work closely with the graphic arts group to coordinate audio and video presentations that are played in the sanctuary. Stop by the sound board (after service) and ask one of the current volunteers how to get involved in this ministry. If you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, there is something new to learn everyday.
